Floyd Folds from Fool's Gold. A Gold Miner face lift was definitely in order and our modest shaver Floyd seems up to the task. The visual style is faithful to the piexel in this is an upgrade to the Gold Miner series who has already seen three installments with a fanbase of likely minimalist casual gamers. The name of the game is Gems this time around, with a simplified combo system and sturdier, more varied, list of sub-objectives. The addition of a partner cat certainly adds to the otherwise lonely journeys of the Gold Miner, as he will provide you with various randomly aimed brutal shots. However, the comedic value of the shop, while still there, has dropped down a notch while still visually holding a candle to the series. The clamp has been given the much needed upgrade of making itself more visible, and the motion of the vehicle is now a more integral part of the gameplay. In terms of difficulty, I found that the game suddenly turns up the heat as soon as you reach the second sets of levels, making grabbing valuable objects unusually difficult due to a smattering of blowfish. Perhaps this show much promise to how much mileage you can get from the full version, and it's about time someone made a demo that can't be 80% completed within 60 minutes. Overall, this will certainly be well received by GM fans, as it is still a relaxing no soundrack, keep-trying-as-often-as-you-want casual game.
