The download for the Linux version of “Between the Worlds” does not work.

How exactly do you play the Linux version? I’ve extracted the tar.gz file, which creates two folders (icons and snd) and two files – uspy, labeled as “executable” and uspy0.pak. Neither one actually executes when double-clicked; uspy asks what application to use to execute. Do I need to download some kind of game framework to play in? I’m on Ubuntu Pangolin (12.04)
You have need sdl, sdl_image, sdl_mixer installed.
